The art of letter writing has waned in this century. With the advent of email, cellphones, texting, and other more immediate means of communication, writing a letter, putting it in an envelope, addressing it, putting a stamp on it, and dropping it in a mailbox, seems dreadfully time-consuming and antiquated.
